Build strong passwords with configurable character sets and instant entropy estimates. Everything runs locally.
Entropy: 0 bits
Use at least 16 characters for critical accounts.
Understanding password strength
Strong passwords balance length, character diversity, and randomness. HashyTools uses the Web Crypto API to sample secure
random bytes, ensuring every password is unpredictable even when generated offline.
Core principles
Length beats complexity—16+ characters withstand brute force for decades.
Mixing character classes increases entropy without making passwords impossible to type.
Each password should be unique; reuse is the fastest path to compromise.
Password managers eliminate the need to memorize, so you can embrace long random strings.

Adapting to password policies
Different services impose unique requirements. Use these presets when you encounter strict policies or compliance rules.
Enterprise SSO
16+ characters, include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Exclude ambiguous characters if the login portal trims
whitespace or has legacy validation.
Regulated industries (HIPAA, PCI)
Rotate passwords every 90 days only if mandated. Instead, favor long random strings stored in a manager plus strong
multi-factor authentication.
Shared secrets
Generate a high-entropy password, share it through an encrypted channel, and immediately rotate once access is no longer
required. Avoid email or chat history, even if encrypted.
Use the generated password safely
Select the character sets accepted by the destination, generate a fresh password for each account, and save it in your password manager.
The entropy display estimates possibilities from length and selected alphabet. It is not a measured cracking time or an assurance about a breached service. Copying a password places it on your system clipboard; other applications or clipboard history may retain it.
For automation, use a secret manager and generate secrets at deployment time. Avoid placing a real password in source code, screenshots, example commands or issue reports.
Password generator FAQ
How does the generator create passwords?
The tool uses the Web Crypto API to draw secure random bytes and maps them onto the character sets you enable. Everything
happens locally so the password is never transmitted.
What does password entropy mean?
Entropy measures how many guesses an attacker must try. Higher entropy indicates a larger search space and better defense
against brute-force attacks.
How long should my password be?
Aim for at least 16 characters for important accounts. Combine multiple character sets or use a passphrase generator to
increase entropy without sacrificing usability.
Should I avoid ambiguous characters?
Disable ambiguous characters when you need to read passwords aloud or write them down. With sufficient length, removing
them barely impacts entropy.
Does HashyTools store the passwords I generate?
No. Generated passwords live only in memory until you copy them, and the page never uploads them to a server.
Compress JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF images to a target size in your browser. Preview results, process batches and download images individually or as a ZIP.
Convert WebP and AVIF images to JPG or PNG locally. Batch convert supported images, control quality and transparency, preview results and download a ZIP.
Decode Base64 or data URIs to an image preview and download, or encode an image file to Base64. Inspect dimensions and size without uploading your image.
