How to use Image compressor

Choose up to 20 images, set a target such as 100 or 200 KB, select an output format and press Convert. Review the original and result before downloading. Download all creates a ZIP for multiple results.

Reproducible example

Load example, keep the 100 KB target and JPG output, then select Convert. The generated 800 × 500 image should produce an output at or below the selected target. Exact bytes depend on your browser.

Limits and file handling

Reaching a target size may reduce both quality and pixel dimensions. PNG ignores the quality setting; JPG replaces transparency with the chosen background. Already small images may grow after conversion. Input is held in this page only and is not saved in browser storage. Clear removes inputs and outputs; navigating away does not transfer them to another tool.

How target size compression works

The tool first lowers JPG or WebP quality, then reduces dimensions if necessary. It checks the actual encoded byte count before offering a download. If the target cannot be reached, the operation reports an error rather than presenting an oversized file as successful. The target uses decimal KB: 100 KB means 100,000 bytes, matching common upload limits. Result sizes are displayed in KiB (1024 bytes per KiB) for comparison.
