How to use HEIC → JPG

Choose up to 20 HEIC or HEIF files, select JPG or PNG and press Convert. The local decoder loads on first use. Review each result and download it individually or get the complete ZIP.

Reproducible example

Load example to fetch the public sample HEIC from this site, then Convert. This fetch downloads the example only; your selected photos are processed on your device. Output size depends on quality and image content.

Limits and file handling

The main still image is converted. Live Photo motion, depth, HDR, auxiliary images, animation and metadata are not retained. Large photos require memory and older devices may be slow. Keep the original for archival use. Input is held in this page only and is not saved in browser storage. Clear removes inputs and outputs; navigating away does not transfer them to another tool.

Why convert HEIC to JPG?

Many phones save photos as HEIC to reduce storage, while some forms, document editors and older devices accept JPG instead. The local HEIF decoder converts the image to pixels, and the browser creates a new JPG or PNG. JPG is usually smaller for photographs and allows a quality setting. PNG may be larger but avoids another lossy encoding step after decoding. Conversion can change color appearance and does not preserve the original HDR representation. Choose the image compressor when an upload form also requires a specific file size.

HEIC decoding uses heic-to and libheif. License · Decoder source archive. Public sample source.
